This project is entitled “ConfigurAbLe and Adaptable MiddlewAre for RFID-based Smart Applications” CALAMARI, - funded by EU Research, RDI Development and Innovation Programme. The overall objective of this action is to develop a commercial innovative (Radio Frequency Identification) RFID middleware architecture based on advanced semantic technology to fulfil the need of emerging smart applications. The specific objectives of this action are as follows: Transfer technology and exchange knowledge in the design and development of advanced RFID systems (hardware and software) between research centres and an Egyptian SME Development of innovative RFID middleware, namely, CALAMARI, with enhanced configurability and adaptability using cutting-edge software development methodologies and advanced semantic technologies Development of innovative and practical RFID courseware to promote and educate university students about this emerging technology and its impact on various educational tracks (e.g. MIS, Supply Chain Management, Network Architectures, Software Development, Distributed Computing Systems).
